When a growing young family needed an addition to their charming Harris Park cottage, they called RisherMartin. With a very tight deadline and a desire to incorporate a number of green building features, this challenging project won various awards in 2011, including Best Green Renovation project from the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin.
This Pemberton home had all the classic problems - small kitchen, old drafty windows, a floor plan that didn't work, inadequate insulation, and a dated hall bath.
When we purchased this Rosedale home built in 1941 we had big plans for the future RisherMartin Headquarters. We wanted to honor the character of this old home, while converting the interior into a modern, functional office space. Along the way we picked up several building and design awards, and 5-Stars from the Austin Energy Green Building program.
This Tarrytown home was beyond repair, so with the help of local Austin architect Richard Weiss, we designed and built a new energy efficient home that blends perfectly into the neighborhood. This project won two coveted Star Builder Awards in 2010.
